Get to Know Me

Jodi Scholes, a certified massage therapist since 1994, is a teacher, a coach and a public speaker.

Through her online education program, Ms. Scholes teaches graduates of massage school how to pass the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx). She teaches NCBTMB approved courses on various subjects that focus on creating sustainable thriving practices which is why her company is named the Business of Bodywork. She is currently a Subject Matter Expert developing curriculum at Northern VA Community College.

Ms. Scholes has a private coaching practice for advancing entrepreneur owners of massage clinics. Her systematic approach creates processes that leverage the owner’s time allowing them to work less, see more clients and gain their life back. Jodi speaks regularly to massage therapists on topics such as the 10 Mistakes Massage Therapists Make All the Time and shares with the public her signature talk, The Power of Touch.

Jodi maintains a massage practice seeing +/-20 people per month. Her bodywork focuses on supporting athletes. At last count, she has logged approximately 12,000 hours of hands-on work.

From 1994-2004 Jodi was the official massage therapist of DC United, Major League Soccer. Jodi also supported US athletes doing massage for the World Championships of Track & Field in Helsinki, Finland 2007 and Osaka, Japan 2009. She has worked many Track & Field US Championships such as Los Angeles, California; Indianapolis, Indiana; and in Eugene, Oregon. In 2011, Jodi received Outstanding Member Award by the VA Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is an amateur triathlete and enjoys watching the Food Network, US soccer and football.
